Every now and then I need to paint a tiger on a turquoise background. I like to be able to compare the ones from years past afterwards to see how I've progressed and how the concept has changed.

I hope I don't offend at all by asking this, but is it to your understanding that depending on light conditions, a hunting cat's eyes can appear 'clouded' in the present conditions of the lovely tiger in your painting? I'm afraid my expertise is with pen and ink, and certainly not acrylics; line drawings and graphite shading and pen crosshatching, not something as realistic as yours I imagine comes close to. What a handsome tiger lad or lass you've put up in excellent and colour and detail!

Not at all. You mean to say they would not be as bright and shiny? Perhaps so, yes. Though, this is a "fantasy" type setting so it could be interpreted in many ways! I intentionally left out the pupils as it is a fantasy tiger, one I've seen in my dreams
Heck, fair enough! ^_^ I'm used to drawing werecougars with more humanlike eyes, weretigers with super-intense but not always slitted pupiled-eyes, and when I draw my Mum she just looks like she's gonna get you up some om nom noms. :) I have to say, though I haven't anywhere near enough to pony up for the original, I am exceptionally fond of the way you've drawn your lovely tigerperson here! ^_^
