Doctor Nathanial France, better known as "Professor Red", from the mathematics department at the PCA. I'd post the profile Stan_Roach sent me, but seeing as he hasn't made it available to the public, I think I'll respect his wishes and keep his files a secret. ;)

I know I made his eyes a little large, and as Roach commented, that might just be what I'm used to; I'm certainly not familiar with drawing long muzzles and snouts. Either way, I'll be sure to fix that if I ever finish this. I'm actually a little upset with it. Very experienced ninetails. Seems to enjoy tormenting studnts by sending them to detention at any chance he can get, but adversely seems to encourage their academic excellence. At least that's what I've gathered from known encounters with students.

Intensely interesting and surrounded by quite a bit of mystery, he seems to keep to himself and two main comforts: his smoking pipe and a good cup of coffee. The latter of which his assistant teacher brings to him from time to time from the Teachers' Lounge. (He was banned from the area himself for an unfortunate 'accident'. If you want to know, good luck asking him yourself.)

This was practice, fanart, and a gift, as I've been meaning to draw Red for some time but never got around to it. It's practice for full body picture scenes I had hoped to do in the future, but I'm really worried about not doing him justice. So we'll see how that goes. I'd like to thank Stan_Roach for giving me permission to draw him.

Appearance: France is an old and graying ninetails. Sometimes when he’s walking he doesn’t appear as tall as he actually is because his back would be bent slightly and his posture stooped. But other than those things he appears to be in good health for someone his age; his pelt even maintains its luster. The tuff of fuss on top of his head tapers to a narrow string of hair that’d hang at the side of his face if not against the back of his neck. His nape fuss is rather thick and neatly combed. His eyes are red, his teeth are white, and his facial features are appropriate for that of an elderly ninetails.

He usually dresses sharply for work, and carries a smoking pipe in his teeth as if to smoke it (although he wouldn’t necessarily smoke of it at the time). His right arm is completely wrapped in white bandages just pass the middle of his upper arm.

Special Effects: He has this menacing aura about him sometimes. Also, the smoking pipe that he usually has in his mouth would remain there even when he opens his mouth to speak or eat or drink. It is as if the mouthpiece of it is glued to his lower lip.

Personality: Everyone who is familiar with France at the academy would know that he is a surly, odious, and lecherous old man. He would be renowned for handing out more detention sentences than perhaps most instructors at the school, and usually for no good reason at all. He also presides over detention, using this time to grade homework and exams; thus he seems to delight in the misery of others, and he spreads discontent whenever and wherever he is able to. He tends to possess a sort of duality to his motives, however; in that while he seems to harbor an intense dislike for students and cheerfulness in general, at the same time he encourages his students to pursue academic excellence.
More often than not he is grumpy and quick to temper. When he is not these things then he might be putting up a front so as to appear to be accommodating and generous—he is not above deceiving people in order to earn their trust and to, subsequently, use them to get what he wants.
He is also mildly superstitious, believing his right arm to be cursed. Thus he keeps it wrapped in sacred sutra bands whenever he is out in public.

Parameters: France’s special attack and special defense attributes are superbly high, in contrast to his physical attack and physical defense attributes which are very low. Thus he can sustain and fend off extraordinary amounts of energy-based assaults but physically he is rather fragile. His evasiveness is high while his speed is average.

Known Techniques

His Special Abilty is Flash Fire, which activates when a fire-type attack makes contact with him. It causes his fire-type attacks to power-up (by 50%), and he becomes immune to fire-type damage that is inflicted upon him (except for burn).

Special Arts
Deception (“gihen no jutsu”): France excels at tactics that exploits people’s sense perception. This special art is a compilation of techniques and maneuvers that trick the adversary’s sense of smell, sight, hearing, and touch. The more prevalent manifestation of this special art is France’s “sidestep;” an inexplicable, high-speed evasive movement that leaves after-images of France in his wake. Associated techniques include Double Team, Hypnosis, Confuse Ray, and Sunny Day.
Phoenix Reels: To a certain degree France is capable of using pyro-kinesis to manipulate the air of the atmosphere around him. A more robust manifestation of his special art includes causing the air to rapidly expand so as to produce a shockwave or a dense wall of air; which he could then use to harmlessly shove people aside or to fend off some special attacks. The effect of this special art is extremely variable, depending upon atmospheric conditions, many of which are not in France’s direct control. Thus this technique requires the application of a considerable amount of forethought, intuition, and arithmetic upon each use. But even given these, the technique is still risky to use. Associated techniques include Wisp, Firespin, Sunny Day, and Solar Beam.
Punishment (“nagai gouku”): This special art is the more occult variant of the Deception special art, and it extends to all senses, supernatural and otherwise. Those afflicted are said to be forced to confront the darkness in their own hearts. Associated techniques include Confuse Ray.

History: People who are better acquainted with France would know that he is extremely old. Like, centuries old. Ancient. And for whatever reason he still insists upon pursuing a teaching career despite how much he lets on that he disdains it; despite the fact that he was eligible for retirement a long, long time ago. He has a PHD in electrical engineering, and several degrees. He is a self-proclaimed physics genius although his brilliance has never been used in any practical application.
He’d probably claimed to have once been a Contest Battle competitor, although there are no records to confirm this; and there probably isn’t any evidence that such competitions even existed during the time that he was in his prime.
He currently lives in his own manor in some part of the country side—near a temple that another family owns. He wakes up early to prepare his lectures on weekdays and goes to the temple on late nights to meditate on weekends. Sometimes he lingers at campus long after detention has ended to attend to things such as extracurricular activities. If it becomes too late he would sleep under his desk in his small office.
