Vrghr made a fantastic version on the classic grilled cheese with tomato soup combo an I'd told him how it'd reminded me of another of those old soup & sandwich combos we used ta have as kids... was Peanutbutter & jelly sandwiches with chicken soup... an since I hadn't made this in ages, thought I'd try m'own paw at puttin' a new spin on this classic combo...
Now the chicken soup was a canned soup but I boosted it with an added can (large) of white chicken meat then added additional seasonings of garlic powder, Nature's seasonings, ground black pepper, chives and parsley flakes but feel free ta use yer own preferences...
The PB&J I spruced up (since we used ta jus' have it on untoasted bread) I gave mine a buttered spread then seasoned with garlic powder and parsley flakes on texas toast bread then used a smooth peanut butter and orange marmalade jelly ta make this kind of PB&J sandwich... but again feel free ta experiment an use yer own preferred kinds of peanut butter and jelly.
It's always been a favorite of mine ta munch on the sandwiches between scoopin' out the chunkier portions of the soup and then the remainin' slices used ta dip inta the juicier portions of the soup later on in the meal...
So... hope ya enjoy this if ya give it a try an if ya find other flavors that go well t'gether I'd love ta see what'cha come up with :)
