The badger's name, Bennet Hotch is an homage to Bennet Hatch, a minor character in R.L Stevenson's book The Black Arrow: A Tale of the Two Roses which was one of my favourite books growing up. Hatch had a wife named Goody who was a pleasant soul of a woman.
