Bascinets can be quite hard to make them functional, a really big visor can be problematic because the long snout gets in the way, not mentioning how weird that massive metal thing would be when raised. You could split the visor in two parts, upper and lower, so you have to only lift a lighter upper part, while the lower part still covers the throat
I've had really funny images in my head when such visors are lifted above the helmet, and aye I suppose I'll have to keep try to do the split thing. Fer the sake of my brain I've just let snouty characters just have visorless helmets, but the struggle is real in my brain to make things and designs work.. AND look like it makes sense! :D
