Now a bit to conclude running into the ex.

Chapter 35: Information
Jayjay looked at the scroll handed over by Lauretta. This day so far had been one shock after the other. First an ex coming in unannounced and then information handed over. It was no good asking Nicholas about that vixen as he clearly wasn’t in a mood to talk. The male werewolf had shown this after storming off. So the next best thing to do would be to talk to Flint. If anyone knew what to do, it would be him as not only did that male werewolf possess quiet the calm head, despite controlling the element of fire, he was the second in command and Nicholas’s best friend. Jayjay found this male werewolf easily.
“Oh yeah, I remember Lauretta quiet well,” Flint said after she told him what had taken place. “I don’t know all the details. All I know is that she and Nicholas before we came here did date. For a while, it seemed he had found a good match. It certainly seemed that way to me. Maybe there was something about her or they had a fight. All I know is that one day Nicholas just stated he was done with her, and wanted nothing to do with that vixen.”
“Ouch,” Jayjay said.
“In any case after what’s been happening, I think it would be best to look at what she gave us.” The female handed him the scroll over and he took a look through it.
“What does it say?”
“Nothing that we already don’t know except this little bit of their being some kind of collection of others. But I’m not surprised to hear there would be a group bent on conquering this place. What it doesn’t say is how many there are, what they look like, or anything else. That makes our job harder as anyone who comes in her could be a potential member of this group.”
“Should I tell him?” Jayjay asked, nervous.
“You can, but it’s your neck,” Flint warned.
“He wouldn’t hurt me…” The female werewolf figured starting with the room she and her boyfriend shared was a good place. She found him there, looking out the window and having some kind of drink in one paw.
“Nicholas…?” his girl whispered. “Can… I come in?”
He made no reply. Jayjay approached with caution. “Sweetie, you can talk to me…”
The male turned to look at the female and she saw in his eyes anger and hurt at the same time. “I want to be alone right now, thanks,” he said in a flat tone, not wanting to growl at her.
“I… I just wanted to let you know what was on there,” Jayjay said, caught off guard by his look and tone.
“And?”
“There’s… there’s a group of others who want to take over.”
Nicholas grunted and downed the rest of his drink in one go. “Not surprising,” he said in the same tone, getting another.
“You… you knew?”
“I suspected.” Jayjay at that went over and touched the male. He flinched but then relaxed as though her touch was calming him down and snapping him out of this state. The female wrapped her arms behind the male and kissed him on the cheek.
“I hate seeing you like this even if it’s a first,” she said. “I don’t want the love of my life to act like this.”
“You really think I’m the love of your life?” Nicholas asked.
“I know you are.”
He cracked a grin and then turned to face her. “And you are mine,” the male said softly. He was back to his old self for now. But more problems were going to happen.
