Watched this movie again to see if it still holds up and it's actually not that bad, and upon rewatching it I realized that it's basically Castlevania the movie. Like the main crew just fit in a video game setting so well, Van Helsing: the weapon master. Friar Carl: The gadget man. Anna: The Swordsmen. And Frankenstein's Monster: the giant brute. Seriously these guys just work as a team so much. The movie itself though is a fun little gothic adventure that does not take itself seriously and just wants to tell a simple story with fun, interesting characters.

The movie is currently on Netflix so give it a watch.
