In the late summer / early fall of 2015, I started a mentorship with Pete Mohrbacher. While my mentorship with Todd Lockwood had focused more on technique, composition, rendering-- working with Pete was focused mostly on concept and in getting to the core of what mattered to me as an artist.
This was from the first week's assignment, which was to illustrate five princesses based on different types of tea. This one was my favorite, Silver Needle. Silver needle tea is exposed only briefly to sunlight after being picked in it's creation process, compared to other varieties.
