I've been reading a lot of Cyberpunk lately, last one was Neil Stephensons "Snow Crash" (Good Book btw, go read it.) and have been going at "the Universe" on and off. The one with my starships and all, you know.
In the process, a background of Earth was developed, which involves "Upliftees". Animals modified to near Human levels of Cognition, with altered Bodies to fit in better. Furries, for lack of any other word. This one is the first serious sketch. Police Collar on the neck, G-Shock watch, backyard grown genemod tobacco cigarette, MOLLE`d out armpouch, milspec tank-top and great disdain for you blankskin fucks.
I've not much interest in realistic "what ifs" at this point, the development of which requires greater intelligence than I possess, and as such I am slowly whittling away at what might be a complete set of story prerequisites by the time I am 80.
