So the Bf-109 is what he flew over Spain for Franco, and the FW190 is his "current" kite. Am I wrong?

Yep. First of the two is what he flew most of the war until it was shot down. The second one is that which he flew later on and the one he and his wife used to flee Germany during Wolfgang's defection.

Yeah, and three of him own men did give chase, but only to say that they tried to stop him.
