When the world falls down around you and the hope is lost… when you find yourself alone, amid a lightless place, look to the distance. Know that I am there… and that I watch over you always.

"When the light has come and the land is dark... and the moon is the only light we see..."
I got myself the game for my birthday this year, and it did get me through some incredibly shitty times. I love it.
Ironically, I have Kreit (who is to blame for this picture in the first place) to thank for that one, too.

Well, half my sketchbook is full of Ardyn, I successfully spread the plague to three other people, my sister named my new cat "Ignis" (to my eternal despair, because it *fits*), and I'm currently eagerly awaiting the new DLCs and dreading the "golden ending", so... on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say it's about 15 in terms of turning me into a giddy fanboy myself...
I've spread the plague to about 6 people myself, because I don't know how to keep my mouth shut LMAO Your sister named her cat Ignis? That is amazing, Ignis is even my favorite character!
I'm on edge for the new DLCs, I can't imagine how the Pure Ending will play out, I can't see it happening without some kind of weird things going on. As for that sketchbook, do you ever think about posting those drawings anywhere? I'd love to see!

No, my sister named my cat Ignis. On one hand, I can't complain, because his character is spot-on. On the other hand, I complain exactly because his character is spot on.
I'm looking forward to episode Ardyn. Darin De Paul just... owns that role, and I can't wait to see what he unleashes next. There's just so much contagious energy and glee in that performance it's impossible for me to not love it. (Hard to guess my favorite, I know...)
The pure perfect golden ending...eeeeh... my reaction to that promo artwork was about on par with Gladio's on that image. It just feels like a cheap cop out. Not to mention, there's enough sacharrine for my teeth to immediately rot and fall out. It rubs me a really wrong way for several reasons. But eh, worst thing happens, I still have the non-RE original and verse 2, which are perfect, not even cheap xerox-children can take that away from me :3
I actually have a few paintings in progress, because obviously it took a game about four japanese emo boyband slendermen to have my brain finally snap and allow me to draw people. Just didn't have time to finish them. Hm... not sure where I'd share them, either, now that I think about it...

Oh! Well I hope you like your Ignis AHA To be honest I'd love that
God, same. They seriously could not have picked a better voice actor for Ardyn, his voice is what made me start to really love him as a character, despite his flaws. His tragic backstory even more so, and I'm so eager to know how it all went down in Episode Ardyn. I know he's meant to be the bad guy and what not but I can't help but feel really sympathetic of him, you know? He just tried to help the world and instead was shunned. I need more :''(
That's fair! I am in favor of verse 2, because after everything Ardyn had done to the world to be honest I don't think it could've gone out...right. Sounds like a magical fanfiction ending. Verse 2 though, maybe I'm just a sucker for it because even Ignis gets everything fixed for him :')
I hope you can find a place! Deviantart, maybe?

I love Ardyn, he's hands down easily my top fave from the game, but as much as I like his backstory having depth to it, I also consider him irredeemable. True, he may have originally little fault in what was done, but at some point, the amount of evil deeds just goes over the limit of what would ruin a decent human being, even if somehow "reverted" from evil (great example was the original Dark Phoenix storyline, with Jean Grey deciding to sacrifice her life rather than having to live with all the lives the evil controlling her had ruined).
I'm a mite split on the endings. On one hand, yeah, I enjoyed the hell out of Verse 2, and everyone around me loves it as their preferred ending. Unlike the proposed and teased "golden" one, it still wasn't given easily, but earned through strife, making it worthwhile. On the other hand, one of the reasons for its impact is the original ending being what it is, and I can't help but appreciate that, too. The original (at least the non-Royal/Windows edition version) had perfect pacing, tone and execution bringing exactly the right emotional impact, and it working great is why Verse 2 kind of "inherits" the win. I think I really am equally fond of both. Although I have to keep saying I'd dish out quite some coin to SquEnix to show us the epic smackdown that had to be the Citadel fight in Verse 2, that would have made it perfect.
I don't... really use deviantart anymore. But I'll figure something out.

After everything he did, he's definitely irredeemable. Though I just feel bad that he felt like he had to do all that in the first place, that he was thrown aside. I always figured he must've been a good man in his time, considering he wanted to take in the daemons that plagued mankind...he had to have been nice. Maybe it truly was the daemons who twisted him in the end anyway...
To be frank, Square is going to have to do something really tragic for me to be so upset I'd give up on it...I put up hope that maybe this golden ending will be well written and well explained that I'll somehow still feel like it could've been plausible and explained. For what I know though, from reading the descriptions of the upcoming DLCs, Episode Noctis is where he basically says "screw the astrals" and makes his own end to the story. That would explain the "golden ending" but I'm still confused on why or when he would even come to that conclusion. ^^;
When you do, please let me know!

You're the crown of Quality over Quantity when it comes to your art, Changer. Always happy and amazed when your work shows up in my feed, no matter how few or far between.
This image brings us close into that deeply personal space. Way back in college I learned in Sociology about the spheres of proximity and how they relate to people's familiarity and trust. Most strangers stand about 3 feet apart. Friends and family within 12 inches. Anything closer is either awkward, threatening, or - as the case with this piece - intimate.
Just watch those claws near the eyes.
