An interesting perspective, and one I imagine a great deal, and also happen to see quite a bit: abandoned industrialization.
Industrialized society is dying to be certain. But, people believe, mistakenly, that it means the rise of something else, a digital society in their mind probably. Since I don't see that as possible, my mind wanders to these kinds of situations, and I find myself looking at what I can use in the future. The salvage value for these phones includes all the brass/bronze for the bells inside, magnets from the speaker and microphone, and perhaps copper and other materials from inside the phones themselves.
