I'm guessing that the reason that people hate Xion is two-fold. One, she kinda looks like a Mary Sue character (secret new female member of the Organization, looks just like Kairi, wields a keyblade, so on and so forth). And two, she gets between the Roxas/Axel pairing, so it's the same reason that the fanbrats hate Kairi for getting between Sora and Riku and there twue wub! The second is just stupid, since the two are friends and nothing more, and moreover the reason that they're so close is explained in 358/2 Days. The first… well, that will also be explained in the game. Mwehehehehehehehee.

LOL I was never too...into the Sora/Riku pairing, only because I never really...felt it? But that's because when I first played Kingdom hearts, my brain wasn't wired to think that way. Yet. xD So I'll ship the hell out of Sora/Kairi. It's the Mario fan in me, I want the hero and the princess to be a pair.
I don't know the deal with Xion. At all. xD I can't say I'm glad there's more story for me to have to try to understand...but I'll withhold my judgement of her until I beat it. x3

The complaints I've mainly heard about when it comes to the hate/dislike of this character is the fact that she's not exactly a strong female character like some girls out there wish for. At least i heard these complaints from those who've actually played it. And that is kinda a reason why I'm not to wild about the character either...along with some other things that irk me about her, but I'm not going to get into that here.
Yeah, admit I'm interested in homosexual relationships more then hetro, however...I've moved away from the yaoi fandom 'cuz they've gotten pretty out of hand for me. XD;;; So, I guess that is why I'm not too aware of the..akuroku complaints. Just saying my dislikes aren't yaoi basis here. lol That's a little silly disliking a female character 'cuz 'they interfere with your favorite male/male pairing' and really...they aren't.
I'm mainly interested in playing Birth By Sleep, Aqua looks promising to me. Sadly, I don't make enough money to buy a PSP and the game itself. ;A;
Oh well..I'll play it someday...I will.

LOL is it sad that I'm looking forward to Birth By Sleep because there are new Disney worlds in it? No offense to Aladdin and crew, but I've set their worlds right way too many times already. xD

And it's not because she is getting between Aku and Roku (lulz), but because it really feels like she just got injected into the storyline so they could make another game. And I might be wrong about that because I know literally nothing about the game (I avoid reviews/previews like plagues), but I got a little storybook that came with my Final Mix+ (KH2) that told a story about Axel and Roxas while they were working together in the Organization, eating ice cream and yadda yadda, and there's not even a HINT of anyone named Xion. If I hadn't read that story, then I'd be like, sure, ok, I'll believe in someone named Xion. But I did read the story, and she wasn't freaking in it.
I'm sure (hoping) they'll find someway to patch it over and make Xion "fit" though, so I don't have to be annoyed that way. xD
But we all have to admit, Square makes up a lot of new characters to fill prequels/sequels. See: Every new character in Dirge of Cerberus/ Crisis Core. xD

I'm looking forward to this game myself, and hope it is worth buying... I am a KH fan, and have played/beaten all of them multiple times. I need a new one, I'm bored of whomping Ansem/Xemnas... Even bored of kicking Sephiroth's a*s in KH2.
