New Commission Type - Presketched Themed Pinup
Introducing a new commission type coming to my menu this month - the Presketched Themed Pinup!
I had this idea brewing last month to take the preposed nude pinups from here and upgrade them, adding a little bit of an environment to give each pose some context and make them look a little bit more filled out. When I showed the sketch for the first one on my Facebook page, I got a really good response, so I decided to open a small queue for testing, and the five lovely ladies seen above were my guinea pigs. n_n (I will be uploading their individual images after this one.)
So basically, these are going to be YCH's similar to what I've done before, only this time, each one can have multiple slots, meaning more than one person can have their character drawn into the image (though I will likely limit the amount of slots each time because after I've drawn something several times I don't want to draw it again lol). The linework itself is drawn first as a template and then I simply retrace it for each individual image.
Having the linework already done removes a considerable amount of work from the process (since I'm not having to look up photo refs and spend a bunch of time sketching the different background elements or the figure) which allows me to offer them at a lower price than what something similar would normally cost. Doing it this way also gives me an opportunity to try out a particular composition or idea that I might not otherwise get a chance to draw. :) I also imagine something like these might be nice for those who want art from me, but have trouble coming up with ideas.
PRICING: I plan to offer designs at various price levels. Some will be rather simple (possibly even badges?) around $30 while something like the pieces above will start at $75, with fees being added for things like character and costume complexity. I'd like to try and get a good range of designs and prices, not only to keep things affordable for those on any budget but also to have a better variety in my gallery.
AVAILABILITY: I'll be making new templates each month based on whatever my themes are for that month, such as seasonal, holiday, birthstone, zodiac signs etc. There will be faeries, boudoir pinups, bust portraits, and maybe even something naughty thrown in once in a while. And yes, I will try to make some for the boys too. >u< Once the month is over, the template will be retired so when you see one you really like, you'll have to speak up!
BEFORE ANYONE ASKS, THESE ARE NOT OPEN JUST YET. But my September queue is opening this Friday and I'm going to try and have at least one (if not more) new template ready for you!
