Well, I spent the last 2 days or so making my own pair of steampunkish goggles. Made completely from stuff I found around the house, namely an old thick leather belt, some glass lids from some odd containers and a buckle form an old watch strap.
I kind of want to still add some stuff to it, like a few brass or copper thingies to make it look more steampunk.
Sorry for the poor photo quality.

I've only ever sold one piece of the chain-mail that I made, and that was a chain dice pouch to someone form my school who wanted one for their DnD group. I think it would only be worth it if they were really small objects and I could deliver them in person, like at a con of something, but I don't see myself ever attending one.
What did you use to sew them together (no, I am not a moron and I do not mean the needle, I mean the material :P)?
If I find the parts I might want to make my own now, just because yours look awesome - but I need to also have corrective lenses for glass if I made some... because I am like a spider...
...nearsighted.

Well for some parts I just used normal black thread, namely closing the loop around the lenses and attaching the buttons for the head strap. All the rest was just with this very thick off white thread I found, I'm not sure what its called, though while looking for tutorials of how other made theirs i heard some people use waxed sinew, or waxed thread which I think may look better than what I have.
my friend made some of those with couplings for a sink trap: http://www.coldcomfort.com/dylan/pi.....%20goggles.png
He never met his Halloween deadline, though.
