Solid business advice, right there. Build up a strong base at home before expanding. If only Del Boy had thought of that! ^__^
This was taken at a car show in Skewen, near Neath, held over last weekend. While the event had originally been scheduled for August 12th (my birthday ^^), heavy rains had meant that the grassy gnoll on which the car show was to take place had become a swamp, and so the date was put back by a couple of weeks. Roll around to early September, and the place played host to almost 300 cars, dating from as early as 1915 to as modern as a couple of months off the production line, made from as close to home as Pontypridd to as far away as the United States.
These two cars in particular were highlights for me. The car on the right should be instantly recognisable to any fan of the 1980s program 'Only Fools and Horses'; not only was there a 'Midwife on Call' sign in the window of the yellow Reliant Regal, but an inflatable doll was looking out of the rear window. Watch the show; you'll get it! :P The second car is a favourite of my father; the Austin A40 Somerset. Built between 1952 and 1954, 173,000 of these cars were built, as a sleek 4-door saloon car to replace the A40 Devon. Two Somerset were on display at this show; one coloured black, and this one a pleasant beige colour.
Hope you enjoy!
