this is a VERY small piece of the reference sheet for the Hawa Akta species (pronounced "how-AH AHktah") it translates in their language to "hip wings" which is their most unusual feature

a little about them:
both male and female are built very similarly in body type, and they are considered equals
they ARE able to fly, but only if weather conditions are favorable and only for short periods of time (like, 30 minutes, then they have to land)
their bodies are extremely tough and rugged, able to take a good number of blows and hits due to a somewhat rubbery cartilage-like bone structure
