After Death.
This is part I from the final chapter of the Glory album. I cut off the rest right after the beginning of part II because i never got around to recording the vocals for it at all, so the next verse after this fade sounds kind of empty as the song structure is meant to hold and be a vehicle for a crapton of words. This section is fairly long as is, anyway. This complete chapter is about 16 minutes total.
Oh, and the titles of parts I & II are 'Forever After' and 'Conversion and Conversation'. Almost all of this upload belongs to the former, however.
it is time my friends - i've stepped over the threshold.
violent violet and red
hot, steaming, and newly dead
pressured to alight
beneath fading pain and tide
(the ocean looked fabulous mary, that day i tiptoed through the waves.)
in the first five minutes
before slipping down the hole
i see so many things
so many things i knew
under fading pain and tide of dark a flash of sparks
a ribbon of thought so breathless without air
still ripples back and forth
getting lighter now
some pure thought will never end
like coriolis wind
as long as that fading world still spins
but no longer felt
the ship's sails lost...
here where stars explode
against an emptiness beheld
beckons
until it is gone
twisting up into the sky...
(the ocean looks fabulous mary, i think i've been here once before.)
and in the first five minutes i wept to you my dam
and in the first five minutes i knew fear
as it was all picked apart
for the greed of man
and through the violence and into the ocean
where ships turn to graves
and sails decay
i found my way
i found my way.
here the wind's within my grasp
playing over my dancing ears
here the sun touches the earth
reflecting off my skin
here everything's green
the pastures never pale or turn
everything is pure!
the sky, the ocean, the horizon i knew...
here all the world is green
here all the world is green
spread out before me
here all the world is green
sprawled out like morning glory
in my eyes!
everything's perfect on the other side
the other world is bright.
to return to life - back over the threshold.
