The train kept going, with it's usual rumbling over the tracks and whirring wind that past. We both got so use to it, we were literally lying on the top of the train. But there was a thump that stood out to me. I sat up, thinking about it. So loud and sudden among the other bumps while my head was on the roof of the train.
"Stay low." I said, and carefully got up. I walked along the train car. I crawled on all fours toward the edge, but I didn't feel a lot of those thumps. I crouched lower and sprung onto the next car back. It wasn't much of a noise, but I thought I heard something still. A thump or a tap, or it could have been the train again. I looked around for anything, but I couldn't spot a lot out of place. Just a few signs coming in, and Lauren looking at me as they went over her head. I ducked low and crawled back, as the signs flew over me. There it was again, that tap or thump. I heard it as I was about to jump back. I actually stood tall and looked around for a sign of the source, but there was nothing still. I almost got hit by a sign that time and fell near the edge of the train car. I scampered back across the cars and back to Lauren and sat down.
"What was that about?" Lauren asked,
"I heard something" I said, "It sounded off, but it didn't seem to be from anything."
"How could you really hear something out of place here?" Lauren said, "Howling wind all the time, and the train cars rattling on the rails..."
"Just a feeling." Watch said, "But I guess it was nothing." I looked behind myself.
"Well, you know a lot of what you're talking about." She said, "Especially with this kind of stuff. You could be right still."
I laid back down, she had a point, but I have had paranoia before. But, My head was on the roof for a moment and I heard that again, but it was less clear, a tap, or a thump, or a scratch.. I sat up and looked down the train again, It started to become clear. There was a black shadow clinging onto the blue roof.
