This took forever! Sorry for the delay Alex. I started this not to long after he left for Florida and it took a long time to finish. Once school started, it was kind of hard to get it done. I'm still not happy with the background, but I couldn't really think of anything else to do.

Half tone is the broken up dot pattern you have around the characters. I'm not sure what to tell you background wise. Personally I hate doing them. I do know though that a lot of people suggest doing the background first. It helps set a ground for the color of your characters. But I think what you have here is just fine.
It might take me a while to do between school work, but I would love to do an art trade. I think having a tablet really helped color wise. Taking my color theory class isn't helping much so far, but by the end of it, I might know a lot more. But let me know what you want to do for the trade.
I was worried that I didn't get his paws right. I know that they are large, but I'm not very good with paws. Sadly, there weren't very fun reference pictures for keytars (their perspective was lame), so I wasn't sure what one would look like from another angle. I'm glad you like it. Sorry about the wait!
