At long last! She is finished!

This lovely plush is the very first of a new commission type I hope to begin offering in Spring 2019. (They are still in the beta stage you could say)
It was a HELL of a learning process for this thing. I can't tell you how many failed scrap piles of plushies I have in the corner of my room right now...

Aurwen was going to provide a unique challenge the moment I saw her, but in a good way. Her complex marking patterns proved to be a test to my skills and patience as I made each one. Along the way I did end up ruining her head, and I had to completely remake it which was a tad depressing. ;-;
But the new head looks SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER than the 1st draft. Im going to work on the faces of these a bit more to try and get a better front view of them. They look good from the sides, but the front/top just looks kinda wonky.

Her necklace and bands around her front legs and tail were also a bit tricky.
I had tried making them by hand at first, but they were too small to sew the spikes into. So instead I ended up using 3D puffy paint to essentially sculpt them onto her body. That way they move with her, but they wont crack or crinkle like fabric or leather would. :D

And as you can see by her wings in these photos, they are posable! It's a simple wire frame for them, so they are a bit limited. But in the future I hope to learn how to make the wings more flexible and sturdy.
