It is mixed media, marker fore and midground with digital background (I just didn't have enough blue marker left to spare...)

I love the feeling here. The two characters are just cresting a hill as they race eachother across the grasses. Behind them canyons stretch. I was aiming for a very painterly feel in the background--I went a little ink-heavy in the foreground (was trying out  Blitzavas new Copic brushpen....I accidentally drowned out my fursona! I redid her front half, but I feel the look is inconsistent with the lovely inking on the horse.

I realized as I posted it to the Xchange that I totally forgot the horse's tail. I also had the horrendous realization when I went to color that (completely by chance, mind you) the horse is in a very similar position (at least in the front half) to the second color ref she had posted...I hate it when that happens! I feel so creative and boom. Reminder that my brain is a slightly different carbon copy of everyone else. There are only so many ways to pose a running horse dynamically.
