Because of yesterday's events with my cat and how little time I would have had to actually work, I had yesterday afternoon free here at home and for the first time in quite a while, I watched Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring and Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Granted, the tauntauns are only in the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back but it's close enough to be a crossover of sorts as Yervaa meets Moria's balrog for a blind date at his place at Khazad-dum. I really need to come up with the girlfriend that sets her up on these dates all the time.
By the way, this probably takes place before she actually meets Gordon 'ALF' Schumway.

I'm sure that asbestos tie is clashing with his loincloth as well. Granted, perhaps Yervaa wouldn't mind seeing his 'whip' before the date is done. Nah, not on the first date, Yervaa's a classy beast of burden.
As far as companions... hmmm. Almost thinking of other Star Wars beasts of Burden, the Bantha, the Ronto, the Dewback. That, or a Ferengi chick with a mean sense of humour.

Or maybe a Tholian or something that doesn't quite understand dating. Ooh, maybe an Excalbian because they didn't understand good or evil. As you can see, I'm partial to the original Star Trek aliens though Ferengi is a good idea. Hmm, maybe one of the arena beasts from Attack of the Clones might work too. Like that cat one. Hmm, there is something about that bantha idea I like too. I might have to see if I can work on that girlfriend angle a bit more.
Funny you should bring up the 'whip' as I was thinking of making a porn doodle of this pair too but he'd be showing off his 'sword' instead of the 'whip'. She'd probably have to wear asbestos or Nomex stockings and mittens to do it with him though. Or dump a bucket of water on him first.

Well, not knowing that you were working on this piece at all, I guess I didn't expect anything I just mean, of all the possible creatures to make anthro or use as they are as part of anthro art, I probably would never have thought of the Balrog. I guess I think too inside-the-box on character design, even though I really liked the creature all in all! I mean, he roars fire! Nobody can deny that's cool :-P
I was thinking about making a joke about that but didn't have time to draw another picture and I didn't want to clutter the sketch with too much dialog.
Thank you. I can probably credit the picture I used as reference for some of that. It wasn't the most detailed and worked like the Galactic Heroes tauntaun that inspired Yervaa.
