I grew up on a good bit of horror movies and Freddy was by far the most fun and charismatic horror baddie of all time. I loved the one Nightmare on Elm Street movie "Dream Warriors" the most out of the whole bunch.

Only sad thing is the recent trailer that came out, which you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMCqojk1xO4 . They are remaking the original movie and the thing that worries me is it is being directed by Michael "I Love Explosions" Bay. I fear he is going to send the Freddy Krueger movies crashing and burning....

Quick ray of hope, Greenie. It's being "Produced" by Bay, not directed. Meaning he had the money, but Samuel Bayer is directing. Not sure if that's a great thing, this is kind of his big chance to do his first movie, hopefully he can make a run of it.

I do really like that Jackie Earl Haley is playing Freddy now (as much as I would have hoped for Robert again). He was great as Rorshach.

Oh, and this pic rocks.

Guess that is a small saving grace knowing he isnt the big huncho in charge... And a little okay with Earl Haley taking up the mantel of Freddy... But Robert England would have been FAR better a choice to keep the familiarity and the classic Krueger look.

But it already is upsetting as they want to take the Freddy series in a darker and more serious direction. Granted it could be good and well... But Freddy was meant to be a dark humored and highly charismatic character... it was is calling card! Take that away and he wont stand out at all. That was his key feature.

He couldnt be known as the most brutal killing machine... That's Jason Vorhees title due to the insane amount of killing he wracks up with his brute strength.

He couldne be looked at as some nightmarish god... As that is HellRaiser's territory... he's just messed up period.

Take away Freddy's dark humor and charisma and you lose the essence that made Freddy stand out among the rest.

Wow....maybe haveing nightmars won't be so bad.
