Personality
Silvermane is not an energetic pony and can come across as shy to ponies he doesn’t know but is just quiet. When with his friends he is a playful and friendly pony who likes to spend time with those close to him and is protective of his loved ones. As a commanding officer he is stern and strict with those under his command but respectful to them as well as civilians. Loyal to the Princesses and bound to uphold order he is willing to lay down his life to protect innocent ponies and bring those who harm innocent to justice.
History
He was born in Canterlot castle hospitals. Being of a long line of pure blood unicorn of the Silver family who stretch back to before equestria and have roots in the original unicorn royal court most of which had a natural ability with magic passing on to him. He too went Canterlot school for gift unicorns at the age of 4 following a long line of talent unicorns in his family. At the age of 16 he tried to enter the guard but was rejected due to physical weaknessand was referred to the the equestrian magical society which he worked at and got the position wizard. The year after he was recommend to the guard as a magic specialist for them then rose through the ranks to become part of the knights.He has his heart broken once and he married to a pegaus who then broke his heart after they had 4 kids ruining his life and he still hasn't gotten over it since as he was never told why blaming himself for it however.
Family and Friends
Silvermane whole family goes back before equestria and he has remained part of a pure blood unicorn family which bolsters his already high skill in magic. However the line extends back to the era where princess platinum ruled and being part of the Silver lords family. A family of noble stallions of the unicorn court. The recorded founder of his family is a Siliverlight , supposedly an alicorn but this is unverified. His more recent family are his parents , the father Silvernight and his mother Silverhooves , he has 5 children 2 of which live with his first wife Hard speed who was a pegaus. The three which live with him are his youngest son Samous a earth pony and his oldest Silverstar a unicorn and his youngest daughter Starlight an alicorn. He has a adopted brother who is a pegaus called Blue Flash who is a member of the Knights of harmony. Currently married to a mare called Dawn Light.
Silvermane has made himself a wide circle of friends somehow. He is a friend of celestia after living by the castle his whole life and visiting often as a foal however he's a bit twitchy around Luna due to past issues and begin shown what happened by Celestia after he asked about the other princess one time. He spends majority of his time with the Canterlot upper class and is a friend of ponies of the like of fancy pants. However he also has friends from all over equestira .
Occupation
Silvermane joined the royal guard at 18 after leaving school at 16 then spending to years in magic school. After he spent 6 months training to be a guard he severed as a standard soldier at the rank of corporal for 3 years then was submitted to officer’s school and after 1 year of training he was promoted to Captain and placed in charge of the celestial school of magic security. After the changeling attack he got placed in charge of canterlots royal guard and has severed as commanding officer of canterlot’s security since.
Home
He lives in Canterlot castle gardens district. A gated community near the castle and is fully of large manor houses. His has been in the family for several hundred years. He got it after his grandparents passed away. It is three stories with a four story tower on the rear.
Hobbies
Silvermane loves reading and writes his own book. While he likes his alcohol he rarely drinks and has only been drunk once. Preferring to spending time with his family he spends the time when he’s not on duty with his youngest daughter or his eldest son and daughter outside of canterlot.
Skills and Abilities
Being fairly weak physically compared to other stallions and lacking much of a muscular build even by unicorn standards. He is fairly agile and as well as skilled with a sword thanks to his fencing days. Having a light body types means he can be hurt easily by brute force but will continue going for extent time periods even when badly wounded or in harsh conditions. Having a huge magical knowledge and being capable of a wide variety of different magic's going into deeply complex things which are out of the range of most unicorns but he has the natural ability with magic to master borderline alicorn magic thanks to his unicorn thoroughbred.
