So, I really dyed the paper for this. And while it was hard to control it was also super fun. Probably going to be doing more stuff like this when I get the time.
I drew this a while ago. For James. Of course. That's pretty much all the art I ever do now. This was when everyone was freaking out about the anniversary of Woodstock.
I'm really happy with this. It's the first page of my sketchbook and I feel like it is a pretty solid opener.

Oh I love dying paper....you did it with food dye and shaving cream, right? I remember when I learned that at a rubber stamping camp in third grade or something. I still love doing it =P
Standard's face looks so great here, I love when you draw in this sort of sub-style of yours. I also really like her hair and that love tattoo-thing on James.
P.S. I see what you did there with the blue and yellow dye heart =P

This sounds kind of goofy but when I draw expressions I make the expression myself to get a better idea of the little parts of face that influenced the overall look. This actually makes me shy about drawing in public because I end up scowling or looking crazed as I try to nail the expression down.
lol I understand and you remind me of this web-comic maker named awkward zombie, he did a short comic about doing expressions on characters and doing it himself and it made me lol pretty damn hard
