The No-one
"We are not good, nor are we evil. We are simply survivors."
History: When a belief in an idea or concept becomes overwhelming then it is possible for someone or something to come into existence. The No-one follows the concept of the Bogeyman that many have used in order to keep children on the straight an narrow. While he has never revealed his age he has mentioned on several occasions events that have spanned thousands of years indicating that his own existence has indeed been a long one.
The No-one is considered a Monster, a species of creature that exists separate from the religious concepts of Angels and Demons and along with many others who chose to refrain from becoming either the divine or the damned, treat the material world as their home.
It was during a time of religious transition that saw beliefs in deities change, that many creatures were given the choice to either ascend to the heavens or descend to hell. One particular group decided to turn their backs on the choice and instead prefer to live out their lives in peace away the mortal populace. Unfortunately for them those who offered the choice were angered to the point where they attacked the group and sought destroy the essence that gave them purpose.
At the time the No-one, curious as to the new religious sides, was hidden and looking on when a group of Angels set upon those creatures wanting to live in peace and began to slaughter them. Sickened by what he saw he lashed out in anger and suddenly empowered by a great rush of hate, not only dispatched the Angelic warriors but left a fearsome visage upon the minds of those who survived the assault. To this day there are still stories passed on about what happened.
After the battle and confused by the emotion that pushed him on, the No-one found himself in a dark cave where he expected to end up dying due to the wounds he suffered and yet he encountered something unexpected. During this time he was confronted by representatives of the two oldest Deities in existence. Light and Darkness. They claimed they could bestow a great boon upon his kind in return for maintaining a kind of balance between the two Old Gods. Believing the meeting was some kind of fevered dream he accepted and expected his life to ebb away, but instead he found a young lioness tending to his wounds and such the first enforcers of Light and Dark came to be.
Word slowly spread that those Monsters wanting to remain on Earth could do so provided they abided by the rules set down for them, the first and foremost one. "Never upset the balance". Breaking this rule would see them visited by those who were chosen to enforce the rules. Along with this came an array of different abilities to help them adjust and live better lives The major one being able to move freely among normal people without fear of recognition. Due to being creatures of myth and lore it said that those not seeking them will never fully see them.
The Enforcers such as the No-one were granted advanced abilities but at a price that made using them both a boon and a curse.
Abilities: Being a creature aligned with the darkness and a boogeyman, the No-one is able to use the shadows to hide and travel from place to place. Since becoming an enforcer his own shadow has become a living sentient symbiote that appears as a large flowing cloak. This cloak has the ability to "absorb" incoming attacks in order to protect it's host but due to the deal made it doesn't always do what it is supposed to. The reason alluded to for this was to "amuse the old ones".
After the massacre it was discovered that some Monsters could feed on strong emotions to enhance their own strengths. After what happened the No-one found he could use the anger of others (as well as his own) to increase his own attributes, although Hate has proven to be the most unpredictable of emotions to use, and while this seems beneficial for short periods too much will have a detrimental affect on creature feeding on the emotion. Apart from this he has great strength, stamina and despite his size, is quite fast with the aid of the shadows.
Enforcers are also given the ability to mark someone with Judgement. When this happens the marked person is visited by the Old Gods representatives to receive both judgement and punishment for their actions. While this means that Enforcers do not outright kill those who are marked, it is still possible for them to kill in defence or other reasons.
Since the stories of his rampage still exist to the modern day the No-one also employs a simulacrum or avatar that looks a little less menacing than his real form is in order to communicate with those he needs to. This avatar can also act as a decoy to distract attackers.
Personality: The No-one's existence was at first to keep wayward children in line and while none suffered at his hands he will always maintain a menacing appearance despite him looking more like a cartoon villain rather than a scary monster. He considers himself fair to all in his travels but does end up favouring helping those who are bullied while evening things against those who torment.
He would rather spend time alone in a dark place eating pancakes and drinking coffee but in his travels he has met many others who would see him engage in social situations against his wishes claiming it would be for his own good.
