hey there! i don't mean to ruin the excitement for your new pet, but this is a very inaccurate set up. hermit crabs need a lot of room and a deep substrate to dig in.
if you want to give your cute boy the best life the suggested minimum tank size is 10 gallons, although he would eventually outgrow that. they need a specific heat and humidity as well. i don't keep these babies myself, but i do know that there are a lot of myths places like pet stores try to pass off as true just to get you to spend money.
