The sliding glass doors have stars of david, if I remember correctly... Mormons are pretty open about what temples look like inside, contrary to popular belief. We don't allow the public in after dedication. They're for special worship and ceremony at that point, like sealings (marriage), baptisms for the dead (believed to be a continuation of a Jewish practice) and covenants made with God. We promise not to talk about the details, although some people obviously break those promises, and it's more or less a respect or individual choice thing.
As controversial as the religion can be, the temples are always the most beautiful and culturally dedicated peices of architecture. They're very beautiful.
This is the best compilation of the San Diego temple I could find. It was finished in 1993, pre internet, so there's no official image album.

That park's a massive place. One part is green grass. Lots of trees. Then there's a whole massive section for classic buildings and museums and a whole lot more. (Like that environmental theater.) Even the San Diego Zoo lives there. So you know it's large. If you only saw trees, you must have passed by the...erm...west edge of it???
