Umbra is an amalgamation of spirits that is able to take physical form, and able to hide it's appearance through illusion and even walk in daylight that way. Due to being made up of several spirits Umbra displays multiple personalities, making her rather unpredictable at the best of times.

Somehow she connected to Chloe and has been following her around ever since, perhaps hoping Chloe can help find closure for the spirits that took form as the spirit bride as Umbra has become known as. Oddly she is somewhat protective over Chloe but she also tends to get extremely jealous to the point of threatening Chloe on occasion. Despite that she has saved Chloe's life a number of times by fighting off other dangerous spirits and is a big help in picking up clues easily missed by mortal eyes.
