A cute, innocent story featuring you petting and cuddling a cute cat anthro.
(also in the story I mention a school with a lunch break and I have no idea if that's how normal schools actually work but just roll with it pls)
You are at school, walking around in the library during the lunch break, when you stumble upon a rather short anthro cat sitting in a corner, wrapped comfortably in a blanket while quietly reading. That isn’t what catches your attention, however; next to the cat, there is a small, cardboard sign that reads ‘Plushie-for-Hire; $5 to use.’
You walk over, interested. You had just said “excuse me” when the cat looks in your direction and puts a finger over their mouth, telling you to be quiet. They then reach behind the sign next to them and grab a small sheet of paper that they then hand to you before going back to reading.
‘Hi, my name’s Louis. Give me $5, and for the rest of the lunch break, I will let you hug, cuddle, snuggle, and pet me, on the condition that you are gentle with me and don’t stink. If you break these conditions, or otherwise do something that I don’t like, I will stop the session and refund your money. If I enjoy it enough, I may decide to refund some of your money. Tip: I like being petted.’
It seems like a nice deal. Luckily, you always carry money on you just in case. After rummaging around in your pocket, you find a $5 bill. You hand the bill to the cat, Louis, who smiles, puts it in their own pocket, and puts down their book before patting the area next to them, signaling you to sit down.
You sit down next to Louis, then pause. You feel a little awkward, cuddling someone in public like this, despite the fact that no one is around right now. Louis notices your hesitation, and leans against your shoulder, gently encouraging you.
Still somewhat hesitant, you wrap an arm around Louis in a hug. They smile contently and close their eyes. Before long, they perk up and reach over to grab the blanket that they were previously wrapped in, handing it to your to do with as you please. The blanket is big enough that you can comfortably wrap both you and Louis in it.
You sit like this for a while. It’s nice, just sitting here in silence with a cute cat, wrapped in a cozy blanket.
Soon, you get a little more confident. You begin to pull Louis closer to you, with the intention of getting them into your lap. Louis soon realizes what you want, and climbs into your lap before leaning against your chest.
You notice that Louis is sitting sideways in your lap, with one side against your body, leaving their back exposed. You decide to pet them. You begin to slowly, gently run your hand from the top of their head down their back. In the silence of the library, you can make out a faint purring coming from Louis.
With one arm gently hugging the cat to your chest and the other petting them in a slow rhythm, you and Louis stay like that for a long while. The experience is very calm and relaxing, and Louis’ adorable purring makes it even more lovely.
Eventually, your time with Louis comes to a close. Reluctantly, you and Louis separate. Picking up their things, Louis reaches into their pocket and takes out $3 and hands it to you. After you take it, Louis takes a small piece of paper and writes something on it with a pencil. When they show it to you, it reads ‘thank you’. Apparently, they don’t like talking much. You nod and smile at them, and as you walk away, you silently remind yourself to come back here again tomorrow.
I hope you all enjoyed, and as always, comments, questions, and criticisms are encouraged!
