I found this bullsnake recently in my daughter's garage.  It was quite emphatic about wanting to stay and it took me over 20 minutes to shoo it back outside where it belonged.  I estimate this specimen was about 3.5 feet (a little over a meter) long.  Bullsnakes are non-venomous constrictors who are very good at controlling unwanted mice and rodents.  They range from central and northern Mexico, throughout the central plains of the United States, into the south central and western provinces of Canada.
