Actually Alaska is more expensive, unless you're talking Beverly Hills or something. XD Everything in Alaska has to be shipped in; the capital, Juneau, you can't even get to except by plane. So it all costs a lot, especially gas. The southern parts of Alaska (where most people live) get only about 2 hours of dim daylight during the winter; the northern parts get none at all. Winter is roughly October through April (sometimes longer); more than half the year. Depending on where you are the winter temperatures are -20 to -55 F. It's a beautiful, but incredibly savage part of the world, not really for the faint-of-heart.
