A commission from
felldewan of my character Amethyst, from my comic series Ample Time.
A while back I did an Ask the Character on my patreon and Amethyst was asked "What would you be in a medieval/D&D setting? She answered that she'd like to try out blacksmithing and would change her name to 'Amethyst Hammerfist' and only serve people who pronounced her name correctly. Don't worry, I think she was kidding.
After that an artist friend of mine
sethtriggs did a piece of art of Amethyst's idea and I loved it!

So when Felldewan commissioned this piece I think I was very inspired by Seth's art, so I had to link it!
I am still finding my footing with shading and depth but overall this is a good piece I think~

Y'know this seems just the right amount of "Huh, would not have guessed :O!" that I wouldn't be surprised if this was her -actual- job.
Also because of the orange apron, she'd fit in at Home Depot and it would somehow not be strange to see her just hammering away in the middle of an aisle. I honestly cannot say it would be unusual despite the probable building and health code violations associated with putting an anvil and active furnace in the middle of a hardware store. Deadpan staring someone in the eye. While hammering away. Without missing. Ever.
Also long centered braids. Always a plus :D
