Iambic (more or less) hexameter, really quite a bit of work, and not finished yet. Posting it because occasionally posting something unfinished inspires me to finish it well. There's a bit I mean to add about the heresy that the "epochs of daylight" are more than mythical. And the structure ultimately needs six more lines for balance.
