If you don't want me to make fun of British place names, then you can tell that to my Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!
It's hard to believe that I spent almost a quarter of today in the skies above England and Wales, all for the sake of validating my Private Pilot's Licence. Still, in the air I was, and this is but one of countless awesome moments I had during the day. Here, I am inbound the northern coast of the English county of Devon, specifically the town of Ilfracombe (pronounced Ill-fra-coom), having crossed the Bristol Channel from Swansea to reach it. They gave me a life vest and everything! ^__^
The town is a typical English seaside resort, and caravan parks were dotted all along the coastline for the distance I flew along it. This part of North Devon also hosts an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Lundy Heritage Coast, which consists of a small island which rests off the Devonian shore.
Hope you enjoy!

Many thanks! I appreciate it greatly. ^^
Indeed, I had to put it on before take-off, and remove it after landing, and I'm obligated to wear it any time I fly over open water. It did indeed give a feeling of responsibility, that if anything goes wrong, it's the pull of a toggle that's going to preserve my life. Thanks for commenting! :)

Here we have the battered and bloodied 103rd squadron returning home from an bombing raid over Berlin Germany. Although it was a successful raid, Major Rhydian Morris couldn’t help but think of the men he had lost. From Chief Petty Officer Frank Rivera to Ensign James Nueva. He was elated to see his country once again. “Sir I think that’s Devon sir, just north of here is Ilfracomb.” Rhydian breathed a sigh or relief, he had made it home.
