In 351, we don't see clasped hands. We are left off on a failure to connect. ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26874135/ ). Now Cole is not in touch with the essence of being a charmander, and when he tries to "do charmander" he fails at it. He… flinches back from it, like the connection with his physicality that's reached for, like his blaze, but flinches back, like his body refusing him here, as well.
