I don't know, I think she has a bit of justification with being annoyed with Li for lying to her. I know I certainly would be, even if there were good intentions. Of course, I also have social anxiety so entering a situation like that where I discover that what I had been told was untrue would cause a very sudden spike in anxiety, so I might be a poor example for comparison.

I do things all the time that people find it logical and usually they automatically assume I have an ulterior motive or i am putting on a stereo typical mask.i know enough about psychology to know where they're coming from and it kind of bothers me. After a while.i believe it or not scared off to women i was trying to be involved with at different times because of being nice.one had been through some pretty nasty stuff and me being the first decent guy to turn around in about a year scared her off after everything she'd been through. a girl I knew through the Internet for little over a year ended up meeting this guy she Comparing to me and he turned out to be a con artist, which screwed that up.and yes this is 3 not 2 but i ended up in a weird situation where I met somebody who has similar social anxiety problems to myself and i once again apparently scared her off by trying to be nice if that makes any logical sense. . Everything seemed to be fine ad last time we spoke. She said she text me waited a couple of days never heard from her.she had health problems so I texted her maybe three times over the period of four days just little checking in, saying she was on a heart monitor at the time.i got this really weird short txt a couple days after that.bumted in too her a couple of times and was pretty difficult not to make things awkward. She never did explain exactly what I did wrong lol. There's a reason guys like me are quite literally dying out and not reproducing. Quite frequently. I joke about the fact they're going around what is left of us up and start a breeding program like they do with other endangered species.the dwindling numbers of the Canadian nice socially awkward nerd will result in either some sort of breeding program or complete extinction of the species.i love this little comics because its a nice female character who is not very socially mobile and it's something I can relate to.

Li lied and Li risked creating frission in the student/teacher relationship.

People generally don't like to thought of as charity cases where people think that just by chucking money at them their problems will go away and that they'll be oh so thankful for their benefice. Especially when they are independently minded like Adrian.

Hunter went about this correctly: Apology and an offer to make things right. There is no reason that Adrian would have refused his kindness if Li hadn't messed things up. And if she did she has every right to.

I don't think Li deserves anything beyond a stern, face-to-face talking to in private. Having read this chapter on Patreon (Pledge, folks! We love Rick!!), I think her reaction (you'll see it later) was WAY overblown. Dangerously so, even.

This has so much truth. I got harassed at my last workplace cause I offered to make my manager tea when we was super stressed and some people (not him, mind you) found it super weird and creepy.

I've had it happen so much. The price of basic human decency I guess?

Mhmm, I was raised and taught to help, to hold the door, yes sir, no sir, good ole boy, etc. In this day and age it could result in any number of negative outcomes from being verbally abused or even shanked by someone else who is "offended", especially if there is a skin color difference. False lawsuits for sexual harassment, assault, aggravating pre-existing conditions / pain, blind accusations... its just not worth the effort to help anymore because outside of narrow circumstances, good Samaritans have no legal protection.
