"...I think something might be wrong with the kid."

A few days after Artful Bliss hatched, Gilda noticed that she was unusually quiet. Not only are griffin chicks very loud but she is also the child of Pinkie Pie, logically this little ball of fluff should be peeping non-stop. Maybe the chick was just naturally quiet, but that thought didn't sit well with Gilda. Upon taking a closer look, Gilda noticed that Artful was making little movements that signified that she was in fact peeping. But there were no peeps. Not a sound was coming from their child's tiny beak. Something was definitely wrong.

Artful Bliss is mute and always has been. While this did come as a shock to her parents, they were relieved that nothing horrible was happening to their child. Gilda may have overreacted a smidge at first, believing that the chick was sick and possibly dying. A fact that she is embarrassed about now and denies ever happened because in hindsight it was pretty obvious what was really going on. Pinkie likes to bring it up every once in a while to mess with her.
