Currently working on inking this! Here is the sketch I had. It was initially drawn on about 6" x 9" bristol but then I decided to blow it up so that the final piece will be 8.5" x 11" for ease of sizing. This one is a grey wolf with plant life based on Yellowstone such as aspen trees, Indian paintbrush, and lupus wildflowers. The rocks in the front are also covered in lichen. I really wanted to push myself with this project to become more familiar with drawing plant life/backgrounds since I am striving to get away from boring white nothingness backgrounds. Sometimes it works, but when it's almost all that you have, it gets old.
I will be moving this to scraps later.

For sure, I believe that sometimes backgrounds can take away from the piece depending on what your focus is. It's a weird balance. And yeh, I have been way into triangles and circles this year! The triangles in this series are symbols for some pagan elements but in general triangles are just nice, haha.
