Another of my favorite musicals is the cult classic Chess, by ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulveaus with lyrics by Tim Rice.
The standout is the song Anthem, where one of the main characters, the Russian chess champion Anatoly apparently defects from the Soviet Union based on his desire for love.
With all the things going on in the world today, I feel this is a good representation of where I stand on all of it. Not trying to make a statement or anything, but I just wanted to sing it.
