Kitty facts: Young, probably around or less than 6 weeks old. A regular ol’ short haired tabby cat.
The story(depicting death warning):
So we happened to find this kitten at a family members house, scared and huddled in the corner of the house. We pet it and got on its good side, and got it to drink a little. We couldn’t leave it there because the other outside cat doesn’t like cats too much and would have surely scared it off, and it was very much alone. Probably a drop off. So we decided to take it home with us until we could find it a home. And yes, we knew finding a home was unlikely so the thought of us keeping it was also likely. Our cat was skeptical but I think he warmed up to it. We fed it and the most memorable thing of our time together was the food stuck to its face after eating, it was very cute. It meowed and purred, we loved it and made it happy. Right away I noticed it had worms really bad, they were just falling off of its butt, so we got it worm medicine to try to treat it. Because of the worms we didn’t want our cat to be exposed to it so we put the kitten in a very large cage for the time being, and then my husband went to sleep and I took a small nap. When I woke up and after I got cleaned up, I walked out to notice the cat splayed out oddly, and noticed it’s breathing was heavy. I opened the cage and stroked it and tried to find what was wrong, only to see moments later the kit take its last breath. At that point there wasn’t much we could do, but hope maybe it wasn’t dead and maybe life would come back to it. I’m not sure the cause of its death, it could have been many things (the worms, a disease, maybe it’d been hit by a car, maybe the food or maybe even the medicine.) all I can hope is that the love and care we showed it at the end was good for it. I buried it later that night, wrapped in a white torn towel that we had to make it easier to carry, and easier on us not to see. As the next day arrived, I realized with some sorrow that the little one(as I called it) never got its forever home. We would likely have kept it, but at the moment of its passing it did not have a certainty of a home. And it never got a name, and we never even knew it’s gender for sure. So I decided to draw it, and offer to you guys out there the chance to give this kitten its forever home.
