My take on Sonic CD style Sonic, probably my absolute favourite Sonic design. It´s just awesome, he looks cute and badass at the very same time.
I think this is the way Sonic should look in todays anime crazy generation! Would make those guys happy and would make the Old generation fans happy.
About Sonic CD - the game ... well, I only really like the music and the intro and outtro, the game itself is in my opinion an absolute downgrade from the level that Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles set. But to make it short, the level design is a mess in my opinion, bulding up speed is hard and keeping your rings in order to get to the special stage is a though job. The special stage itself is technicaly impressive but the gameplay is so so.
The Spindash in this game is horrendous, you have to hold down the button for a few seconds in order to do the spindash, in Sonic 2-3 & Knuckles it was enough to just tap the button once and you immediately did a spindash. The Superpeelout serves ultimately no purpose whatsoever except for looking cool, I would´ve enjoyed this move if you wouldn´t get hit so easily!
I like the game for it´s nostalgic value, but overall it´s just an downgrade from the other Sonic´s for me! Again, just my opinion.
Back to the picture, these Sonic´s are my first successfull try´s to emulate the Sonic CD art style, the Characters were drawn from scratch on blank paper!
I hope you enjoy it a little! :) I´m actually really proud because I´m absolutely terrible at drawing anime style, quite an accomplishment for me! ^^
By the way, I´m sorry that I cannot make so many pictures right now, my Macbook has a fan problem and the temperatures go up to 84° Celcius when using Photoshop, so I don´t wanna burn my 1299 Euro Laptop just because of some pictures!
Racthet, if you´re listening, now you know why I didn´t color your picture yet, I scanned it though, it will be up in the scrapy section as soon as I can so you can at least see the lineart!
Until my new fan arrives I cannot upload new stuff!
This picture here was done on our PC downstairs, that PC is terrible I tell ya, working with Photoshop is a PAIN it´s so friggin laggy!! When I do your Pic Racthet it will be a lil bigger than this one here, so I won´t do it until my replacement fan arrives, I actually have to take my whole Macbook apart in order to install it, since I´m out of warranty I have no other choice! :(
