Catch A Falling Star
Companionship had been found, a demon such as myself did not expect such pleasant company. However I fret while I am immortal, my friend is not.
After searching through various old, dust spellbooks, I had found what I yearned for-
A spell to turn a mortal immortal.
At last, my worries could cease, my mind at ease knowing my companionship could not leave me.
Permission had not been asked of said companion; who would not wish to live an immortal life?
Upon casting the spell, my friend turned to a star.
A bitter laugh escaped my lips- for stars are immortal, are they not?
That star raced into the dark night sky, what a beautiful, starry night it was.
Gazing upon the millions, I feared I would be unable to distinguish my star.
And yet, the star came shooting back down toward me, once my longed, forever companion, hovered gently above my outstretched hand.
My cold eyes gazed upon its undying beauty, and I caught it.
My friend, my love, remains by my side forevermore, bright star shining in a brooch upon my lapel.
Indeed, this was not the immortal companionship I had sought.
I fear even old creatures such as myself cannot ultimately control magics and their properties.
A lesson that not be forgotten.
