This is a more serious piece of art I painted.
I feel that ancient cultures viewed as ancestral to modern thinking are perhaps held in an unrealistically high, almost obsessive esteem, essentially because some people like to imagine they're way of life is descended from some ineffable distant greatness.
I find that sort of attitude vain, and I think it actually undermines an appreciation of what those cultures were really like, by projecting ideas we find desirable onto them.

oh crap man I really want this on my wall but Im gonna get questioned til kingdom come!
it's so beautiful and being from a country with it's own indigenous race heavily influenced by our captors, it got me feeling a whole new thing.
our purebloods almost wiped out as well as our culture - no one really gives a shit about them -
yet for some reason, when one of them succeeds in the modern world, they're excessively celebrated as if everyone else was there with them on their journey to success!
people would go as far to study their culture and how exotic it is - they want to immerse themselves into something so ancient and acestral just to be cool or something
and then in a few months, the hype is gone and the person is quickly forgotten.
on to the next trend!
