Farewell to Gretchen

Yesterday, I had to kiss my little girl Gretchen goodbye. She was just seven years old, but suffering from kidney failure and cancers in her bladder and liver. She came to me only a year ago, rescued from a breeder. My hope is that her year with me in her "forever home" was a happy one for her. Gretchen enriched my life. I'm so grateful for our time together, however short. This photo of her wearing protective goggles while receiving laser treatment for her ears is one of several that will forever bring a smile to my face.

Thank you, my dear friend. She was my problem child and things were difficult with her at times. But the bottom line is she really WAS a wonderful pooch, as you said.

Oh gosh this is sad news. :( I'm sorry to hear she's gone now, but I remember a lot of good memories of her that you have shared with me. Hopefully the good memories even out the pain as time goes on.
