"I'm a fountain of blood, my love,
in the shape of a girl."
-- Björk, "Bachelorette"
To make this one, I sacrificed one chicken and mixed the blood with the ashes of its bones.
...just kidding.
Watercolours mixed with PVA glue (the new one I got is less fumey) painted on OHP transparency sheets. Managed to work in four coats of the red paint (the real article has some contours and texture) before thinking I'd fudge it up by overdoing it. Did some post-scan work in PhotoShop 7 for submission. (You know what those scanners are like.)
You can see more of the details in the high resolution version here: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e.....enna_HiRes.jpg
Hey, guys (and gals)! I'm in the middle of final exams, forgot to update y'all on that. Honestly, the fact that my boyfriend was back to artfagging again sorta pushed me to do something too.
Working like this made me aware of how much digital methods have made art generally easier and more foolproof to make, and I have a better respect for traditional-media artists.
Thanks for looking. =)

Well, at the end of my semester we did a type of printmaking where we literally put the ink down on a piece of wood (without any sort of pattern etched on it), and because of this, it had a very painterly feel to it (and you only had one edition). The ones I made remind me of how this picture turned out.
i was just thinking the other day why no one has done an anthro art peice with this kind of loosenes, i was thinking in terms of watercolor blotches but the execution here is similar enough. nice work on this piece. i am digging the texture alot as well. keep up the good work
I know, it's the group of art exactly opposite of ultra-detailed hyperrealistic furry artwork.
voln works in a similar manner, but more with lines and forms.
In some of my art, I explore the question of: what parts of a figure makes something a furry in the artwork? What makes the "basic furry"? So far, just having a muzzle, pointed ears, and possibly a tail on a human body seemed enough for it to be a furry person.
Thanks for the words. I'll get back to my paint-based stuff after my finals are over. ^_^
