The Kell of Stone
A while back,a friend of mine, Riptor25 (who can be found on DeviantArt) gave me some lyrics and asked me to put them to music. He asked specifically for the style of a sea shanty. The lyrics are derivative of the lore from the game "Destiny," of which he is a big fan. So in addition to the simple version, which can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/28842188/ , I also did a fully arranged version for a men's chorus (Tenor, Baritone, Bass and a Tenor Soloist).
Lyrics (By Riptor25):
There once was a Kell named Chelchis
No mightier Kell of Stone
His ketch above Eliksni
Waiting for Darkness to come
(Chorus)
A Kell, a Kell did stand against
The Whirlwind's might alone
He stood against the dark'ning gale
The Kell, the Kell of Stone
The wakening hour was closing
The ketches were moored for the night
When Chelchis bid his crewmen
"Look up! Look up to the sky!"
The dregs did flee the routing
Our Servitor Gods were undone
Yet Chelchis bid the Whirlwind
To face him one on one
The Kell of Stone bled ether
His Ketch and his skiffs tempest tossed
"Where is the Great Machine," he cried
But our long battle was lost
The battle was fierce
Yet that sword did pierce
The Kell, the Kell of Stone

I like this a lot. There is a lot of potential to see this fully realized. You've got the structure of it solidly built. Just need a good singer, probably male, and some song building to back it up.
I followed the melody with the lyrics pretty well, but I'll probably need to listen again to get better synchronized.

The thing I love about this is it’s so well composed you could adapt it into so many other versions too, as befits any great folk tune. Personally I’m imagining some very epic drums and strings, along with the vox as Onic mentioned. So, so well written!
Stellar work!
