This scarecrow cheshire's special skills include ambushing prey, able to stay still for incredible amounts of time. Hours, sometimes days, so he can sneak up to pounce anyone or anything. He also has the ability to appear and disappear, like most cheshires. But since he is made from animated burlap and hay, when he chooses to disappear the burlap slips off or the dry straw falls out. You know he's been around because of the mess.
He slinks around during the daytime, most often found in fields stalking, pouncing, and smashing starlings. His “trick” is bringing the dead birds he’s pounced to lucky children’s doorsteps as a gift to them. If you come across a dead bird with traces of hay around it, you know who may have been responsible for the prize.
