A commission i have realized for a band of local bikers. It’s the first time i’m working with people so close to my own area… That was strange, and interesting.
Alsace is a little part of France, located in the north-east on the border with Germany and Switzerland. It’s a beautiful and very prosperous region, very well known for its excellent vineyards. The emblematic animal of Alsace is the stork, and it’s for this reason that this band of Kawasaki fanatic bikers asked me to represent this bird on their logo, driving a Kawasaki H2. My father was a biker himself before retiring (now he prefers the bike). He was driving on a Kawasaki, too. A ZZR-1100. Even so, I don’t have much knowledge of the motorcycle universe (especially from a technical point of view), even if I find these machines beautiful and impressive. Nevertheless, I think I managed to retranscribe fairly accurately the emblematic bike of this band of bikers. The logo has pleased them, it seems, and I can’t wait to see what they will do with it.
Ow, and for the “Elsass” thing… Here, in Alsace, some people speaks in a local/native language (we only speak it in this region, even if we also speak French), called “Alsatian” (“Alsacien” in french). In this “patois local”, the name of our region “Alsace” is translated in “Elsass”… For my part, I know almost nothing in Alsatian (except for some insults), although I can more or less understand it.
Have a great day,
Zieg’
